Dual-application of all-in-one adhesive improves resin cement/dentin bond strength

Objectives : To evaluate the tensile bond strength (TBS) of resin cements to bovine dentin resin-coated with all-in-one adhesive systems.

Materials and methods : Each of the dual-cure resin cements; Link Max 1 , Clearfil Esthetic Cement 2 , Bistite II 3 and Chemiace II 4 were used to bond indirect resin disks to bovine dentin not coated with resin (control) or coated by single-application or by dual-application of an adhesive system from the same manufacturer; G-Bond 1 , Clearfil Tri-S Bond 2 , Tokuyama Bond Force 3 and Hybrid-Coat 4 , respectively ( n = 10). After 24-h water storage, TBSs were measured at a crosshead speed of 2 mm/min. The results were statistically analyzed by ANOVA and Bonfferroni’s correction ( p < 0.05). The interface was observed using an SEM.

Results : Tensile bond strength to bovine dentin.
