Distraction osteogenesis and bilateral total joint replacement

A case report of a 24 year old white girl with a bilateral TMJ anquilosis since she was 2 year old is presented.

The treatment plan included a first phase of 35 mm of bilateral body distraction osteogenesis and then a bilateral total joint replacement.

The treatment plan, the advantages, the alternatives and the outcomes are discussed.
