Procedure 49-1 MANAGEMENT OF AN ACUTE ASTHMATIC EPISODE

|1. Terminate the dental procedure and remove all materials from client’s mouth immediately.||Client may inhale materials during asthma attack.|
|2. Place the client in a comfortable position as soon as signs are apparent—usually sitting with the arms thrown forward over the back of a chair.||This positioning allows for the most comfort during acute attack.|
