Aspects of anchorage in orthodontics with miniscrews/plates

The use of temporary anchorage devices (TADs) in orthodontics has broadened the orthodontic horizon. TADs like miniscrews, can be used to facilitate orthodontic tooth movement, where traditional orthodontic anchorage is difficult to achieve or is not possible at all. In modern orthodontics miniplates are more and more applied in the orthopaedic treatment of maxillary hypoplasia.
