Latent Image Formation
Formation of a visible radiographic image is a three-stage process:
1. Interaction of X-ray beams with the object of interest.
2. Interaction of the information carrying X-ray beam with the photosensitive silver halide crystals in the film (latent image formation).
3. Chemical action of developing solutions which convert the latent into visible image.
