Every day we are faced with a greater amount of patients with either functional or aesthetic reasons require surgical procedures to resolve problems, orthognathic surgery being one of the most used.

The sagittal ramus osteotomy is one of the techniques used in Chile and the world, the correction of dentofacial anomalies multiple jaw, either as monotherapy or in combination with other techniques, demonstrating its high versatility.

One of the main complications that produces this type of surgery is the neuropraxia, compression or nervous strain of the inferior alveolar nerve, being paresthesia, the manifestation of more neuropraxia often arises.

One of the treatments used for paresthesia is the application of a low power laser therapy based on Arsenurio on Aluminum Gallium, which one of its functions is to promote nerve regeneration and return in less time normal sensitivity patient in the areas innervated by the nerve.

That is why in this presentation we gather information on the use of this laser in therapeutic treatment of nerve disorders inferior alveolar after sagittal osteotomy ramus to prove a very useful tool in this area and that is the beginning of further research on this topic.
