Rejuvenation of the Facial Upper Third

Faisal A. Quereshy, MD, DDS, FACS, Editor

I am honored to have been given the opportunity to share with you, our reader, this issue of Atlas of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America on facial rejuvenation of the upper third. The upper face has always been simplified with treatment of isolated areas, such as eyelids only, but advances and innovations in facial cosmetic surgery medicine allow us to further define our techniques to offer patients a more comprehensive approach to rejuvenation.

We have been most fortunate to have experts from our field and allied colleagues support this issue with their expertise from years of clinical practice. Having contributions from the finest surgeons in facial cosmetic surgery, this issue presents information in a very clear, concise, and up-to-date manner that will allow readers of all backgrounds to benefit, either as review or to learn new techniques.

This issue will first embark on the nonsurgical therapies used to enhance upper facial regions with use of injectables and skin care regimens, followed by invasive treatment specific for brow and eyelid management. Pitfalls and complications are discussed. You will find this issue to be complete, with excellent illustrations supplemented with before and after photographs of treated individuals to punctuate the treatment results.

I would like to extend my gratitude to my esteemed colleagues for producing a high-quality issue that will surely become a mainstay for residents and future surgeons with a growing interest in facial cosmetic surgery. They have continued to push the scope of our specialty to the recognized level by our patients and peers. I am grateful for their continual guidance in teaching me to be a lifelong student of the profession. I hope you, the reader, will feel the same after reviewing our issue: Upper Facial Rejuvenation.
