Desmoplastic ameloblastoma is a relatively rare odontogenic tumour affecting the anterior region of the jaws, which should be treated aggressively. This report presents a case of a 50-year-old female patient who was referred to our Oral and Maxillofacial service regarding an enlarging swelling affecting the left maxilla. Clinical examination revealed a large hard swelling affecting the left maxilla on its buccal and palatal aspect in the region of the canine and pre-molar areas. CT scan showed a hipodense mass affecting the regions of the upper canine and pre-molar teeth. Incisional biopsy was carried out under local anaesthesia and histopathological examination of the specimen revealed the presence of a desmoplastic ameloblastoma.

In the presenting case, the tumour was resected with margins and the maxilla was immediately reconstructed with a non-vascularized iliac bone graft.
