Currently a combination of polyglycolic acid sheet (PGA) and spraying of fibrin glue is tried to use for repair after resection of oral tumors. We report two cases in which this method was used to cover part of the cut surface after resection of tongue carcinoma.

Case 1 : A 59-year-old woman was admitted to our department with a chief complaint of a white patch on the tongue in 2009. The clinical diagnosis was leukoplakia. The lesion was excised and a combination of PGA sheet and spraying of fibrin glue was used to cover the cut surface after resection of tongue lesion. Histopathologic diagnosis was squamous cell carcinoma of tongue.

Case 2 : A 68-year-old man was admitted to our department with a chief complaint of a white patch on the tongue in 2008. He did not accept the excision of the lesion at first but the white lesion expanded in 2010 and he accepted excision. The lesion was excised and a combination of PGA sheet and spraying of fibrin glue was used to cover the cut surface after resection of tongue lesion. Histopathologic diagnosis was squamous cell carcinoma in situ of tongue.

The progress of the both patients was good and there were no adverse events or side effects of this method. This method of a combination of PGA sheet and spraying of fibrin glue is considered to be useful for maintaining QOL of the patients after partial resection of tongue depending on the extent of tongue resection.
