Laser cases
With any of these cases presented, it is important to note that periodontal disease is site specific and episodic in nature, and many factors, which are covered in Chapter 5, can also play a role on the type of results. The pathogenesis of periodontal disease and the methods of treating it have undergone radical changes in the past 30 years. The contemporary model for periodontal disease includes microbial components, host-inflammatory responses, and host-risk factors that contribute to the disease progression (Kim and Amar 2006). With the help of lasers, periodontitis, which can not be cured, can be controlled.
