The AJO-DO relies on a dedicated cadre of associate editors and reviewers who generously give their time and expertise to the journal. Before an original research article is published, 2 or more reviewers read it and, in most cases, offer the author suggestions to strengthen the article. When major changes are suggested, we might send an article back to the same reviewer for a second or even a third review. A peer-review journal like the AJO-DO could not function without these valuable contributions.

In 2014, the AJO-DO received 963 new manuscript submissions. Our editors issued 3300 review requests, and we received 2331 completed reviews from 540 different reviewers. We are indebted to all reviewers who participated in this peer-review process.

In January and July, we update the list of reviewers who reviewed at least 1 article in the preceding 6 months. However, many reviewers complete more than 1 review in a 6-month period, and we turn to a few contributors once a month or more. We are especially grateful to these reviewers who give unselfishly of their time and expertise to enhance the quality of this journal. This year, we are proud to recognize the 36 reviewers who completed 12 or more reviews in 2014.
