Clinical and laboratory diagnostic methods in categorizing the complications after midfacial traumas

43 patients with complications from midfacial traumas were included in the study. They were divided into 3 groups depending on the anatomical region: group 1 – orbital region; group 2 – zygomatic region; group 3 – naso-ethmoidal region. They were also divided into 3 other groups depending on the severity of traumas: group A – deformations involved the orbits and lacrimal system, but not the nasal sinuses; group B – involved the nasal sinuses.

The diagnostic procedures for these patients were clinical, microbiological, radiological, CT scans, magnetic resonance imaging, stereolitographic models. Study on the micro-circulation at different stages of traumas were conducted.
