Deliberate Hypotensive Anesthesia
- Indications
- Major oral maxillofacial surgery involving maxillary down‐fracture or tumor removal
- Goals:
- Improves surgical field operating conditions
- ↓ Need for blood transfusions
- ↓ Blood loss
- With increasing use of tranexamic acid, deliberate hypotensive anesthesia may have less indications
- Contraindications
- Cardiovascular disease
- Advanced age
- Renal impairment
