  • Indications
    • Major oral maxillofacial surgery involving maxillary down‐fracture or tumor removal
    • Goals:
      • Improves surgical field operating conditions
      • Need for blood transfusions
      • Blood loss
    • With increasing use of tranexamic acid, deliberate hypotensive anesthesia may have less indications
  • Contraindications
    • Cardiovascular disease
    • Advanced age
    • Renal impairment
