Angiotensin‐Converting Enzyme Inhibitors

  • Benazepril
  • Enalapril
  • Fosinopril
  • Lisinopril
  • Moexipril
  • Perindopril
  • Quinapril
  • Trandolapril
  • Other “‐pril” drugs
  • Mechanism of Action
    • Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (Figure 4.10)
  • Clinical Implications
    • Consider continuing for moderate and deep sedation based on patient and surgical risk factors
    • Discontinue day of surgery for general anesthesia
    • If continued, may have increased risk of intraoperative hypotension, but an increase in perioperative cardiac events or mortality has not been demonstrated [29]
      • If epinephrine is ineffective in managing hypotension, consider vasopressin
