Antibiotic Prophylaxis (Figures 4.14.6)

Infective Endocarditis

  • Endocardium colonized by microorganisms introduced via procedure, trauma, infection, etc.
  • Infective agents [1]:
    • Staphylococcus aureus (Most common)
    • Streptococci (oral viridans group streptococci)
    • Coagulase‐negative staphylococci
    • Enterococcus
    • Streptococcus bovis
