Occlusion Rims,

The length of the occlusion rim is also important. The length should be slightly greater than the anticipated need to allow the dentist to adjust the occlusal plane to the proper level. The length of the maxillary occlusion rim should be 22 millimeters from the greatest depth of the facial (anterior) border to the surface of the occlusion rim. The mandibular occlusion rim should be 18 millimeters high, measured from the greatest depth of the mandibular facial (anterior) border.
