Behavior of the mandibular lingual plate in sagittal split osteotomy: preliminary 3D study

The aim of this study is to evaluate the behavior of the mandibular lingual plate in sagittal split osteotomy using a tridimensional analysis on patients who had mandibular retrusion or centering surgery.

Tridimensional evaluation of five patients was done using the Simplant OMS software presurgically and three months after surgery.

The present study will describe the preliminary results of the behavior of the mandibular lingual plate in the reported cases and treatment alternatives for further studies.
